It’s a little late, but I’d like to thank all who attended last night’s 27dinner in Jozi (we were at Primi Piatti, Melrose Arch) yesterday evening. Considering the cold, dreary Cape Town weather the turn out was good and the vibe was even better.
Our speaker line-up included Ramon Thomas who spoke about Technology Stress in a Wireless World (view the preso at his site) followed by Jason Hobbs who gave a fascinating and stylish report on research he’s done into the disproportionately large, but thriving internet cafe industry in inner city Johannesburg. The photo essay and report are both available at his website (which is also pretty impressive).
Chad from Symantec South Africa rounded off the evening’s formal precedings with some insights form their recent internet threat report, highlighting areas that Symantec is advising it’s customers to be aware of. On that note I must also thank Symantec, and of course long-suffering friends of 27 Stormhoek, for their support at the event.
I look forward to seeing you at the next one!
Was great to meet both you Mike and those other bloggers I can finally put a persona or multiple personas to.
Thanks again for arranging and coercing interesting speakers, who no doubt have little time, to speak to what must be a challenging audience…
Keep up the great work! Will definitely be there again next time.
